Wow, I fell really behind in writing here. Time flies, life is busy and it can be a struggle trying to manage it all. But today, I want to share an extraordinary weekend that has left an incredible mark on my heart.
The first weekend in January, I was honored to be invited to my company's Leadership Summit, in Wrightsville Beach, for the second year in a row with 150-ish other top leaders. And it is the weekend that my future self is going to look back on and say: "that is the weekend that changed my life."
I cried A LOT. I shed tears of gratitude, tears of inspiration, tears of realization and acceptance, and tears of belief. Aside from the joy and emotions that being a mama brings me, I have NEVER felt anything else so deep in my soul in like this.
Gratitude: I am so incredibly thankful to be part of a company that is on a mission to help give everyone a better quality of life - physically, mentally, and financially. Our founder built this company because she struggled in her postpartum journey and wants to ensure that no one else goes through that pain. Her and her husband pour into every aspect of this business, but over the course of the weekend, they poured into us leaders, reinforcing the purpose behind our work.
Inspiration: The stories shared were heartwarming, to say the least. We witnessed a community rallying around a mama whose son was diagnosed with cancer, and another mama whose child faced sensory issues. We shared intense moments of vulnerability, sharing our dreams and seeing others coming true. We challenged each other to grow and evolve. We supported and celebrated each other and will continue to cheer each other on throughout this journey.
Realization and Acceptance: For the first time in the four years that I've been with the company, I finally grasped the depth of our mission and its boundless possibilities. I accepted and embraced the emotions I had suppressed for so long and let the message of the weekend resonate with my soul.
Belief: I see my future with unparalleled clarity. I know without a doubt I will change lives with this company. I know I will make a positive impact on the people I come in contact with. Financially, I know my journey will allow me to provide for my family in ways I never thought possible. I know I will retire from corporate America while my kids are still kids.
What we have here is a gift for so many reasons. It is a community full of love, determination, support and friendship. It is a community I never knew I needed. This is so much deeper than just owning a business. This is a family and this is changing the world.
